Equity (crowd)funding - but without the crowd. Wait, what? You heard that right. Over the past few years, we've talked to hundreds of founders. Every one of them knows the struggle of fundraising. But not every one of them wants to do a public round just to benefit from our all-digital platform and offering. So we created a product between a private and a public round: the Private Round+. Here's a few questions we asked Leandro, our CEO, about the product:

1. There is currently a Private Round+ case running on your platform, a private round that is offered exclusively to your 10,000 investors. What's the product about?

Exactly. After successfully positioning ourselves as a platform for equity crowdfunding (crowdinvesting) in the first year after our launch in 2023, we have now expanded our offering in the second year to include private campaigns, so-called private placements. We are aware that a public financing campaign can be a very sensible measure if the company's direction and current stage are right, but that a crowdinvesting campaign is not always the perfect solution for a financing round. For example, it usually makes less sense for B2B cases, and if professional investors are already on board, a public offering is not always the preferred option.

2. So which companies are suitable for such a round? What should be considered?

A Private round on OOMNIUM is suitable for early stage cases that do not yet have the track record, community and resources for a public campaign, but also specifically for B2B cases that already have professional investors but want to diversify their financing by offering an exclusive group of interested private investors and business angels the opportunity to enter via a standardized, efficient process with smaller investment tickets.

3. What is the big advantage of a Private Round+?

A Public Round, aka crowdinvesting campaign, is time consuming. In most cases, the majority of the amount is already raised during the pre-campaign via the investor's own network and that of the platform. A Public Round is especially useful if you want to reach a broad audience for purely communicative purposes. If this is not the case, e.g. in the case of a MedTech company whose product is not yet on the market, a Private Round saves a lot of effort and at the same time ensures higher tickets from a target group with a concrete interest in investment opportunities in start-ups from the relevant sector. In addition, the founders often have exciting people around them who are not professional investors, but who can add a lot of value to the company on another level if they are incentivized to do so through a direct investment. Plus, the possibility of smaller investments is always an opportunity in the sense of an entry ticket for investors with longer-term potential for larger tickets, but for whom it is still too early.
