"The classic yo-yo effect made me ask: what’s the real difference between a fitness app, a gym subscription, a diet, or a pro coach? That’s when AYON was born."

Ever wondered how a casual soccer game could spark a health-tech revolution? Our latest interview takes you behind the scenes with the founder of AYON, who turned a personal fitness journey into a mission to disrupt the industry.

From tackling the yo-yo effect to teaming up with design legends, we dive into the story behind the 80,000-strong waiting list and the roadmap to AYON's highly anticipated launch. Spoiler alert: it's not just about sweat equity—it's about redefining the future of fitness.

OOMNIUM: Oliver, how did you come up with the idea for AYON?
Oliver Steiner: It all started a while ago when I was playing soccer with my boys. At that time, I was completely out of shape, overweight, and felt guilty that I couldn’t keep up with them or set a good example. So, I decided to take action and hired both a personal fitness coach and a nutrition coach. That was the beginning of my journey to lose 20 kilos and get fit again. Seven months later, I proudly reached my goal! But unfortunately, it came at a very high cost—and even though I had all the knowledge about training and nutrition, I eventually experienced the classic yo-yo effect about 1.5 years later. This made me ask myself: what’s really the difference between using a fitness app, getting a gym subscription, trying out diets, or working with a professional team of coaches? That’s when the idea for AYON was born.

OOMNIUM: 80,000 people have put themselves on the waiting list for AYON – how does that feel?
O.S.: It feels incredible. For us, it’s proof that so many people out there are struggling with fitness, overweight, back pain, poor sleep, or lack of focus during the day—and that they are actively searching for a real solution.

OOMNIUM: You work with Whipsaw, who are also your lead investors. Why didn’t you look for a Swiss design studio?
O.S.: Quite simply, we were looking for the best possible partner. And when it comes to experience and a proven track record in product design, fitness, and digital interfaces, the options are extremely limited worldwide. I already knew Dan Harden, the CEO and Principal Designer of Whipsaw, and had outstanding experiences working with him and his team. His incredible expertise and support—as a designer who, at frog design, collaborated with visionaries like Steve Jobs—will help us shape AYON into the next big health-tech success story.

OOMNIUM: When will AYON be launched on the market?
O.S.: We’re aiming for Q1 2027—fingers crossed!

OOMNIUM: What will you do with the capital from this round?
O.S.: Primarily, it will go into customer acquisition and marketing for our Kickstarter launch, as well as into research and development.

OOMNIUM: Thank you Oliver! We're so excited for AYON to be launched!
